1958 Good Housekeeping’s Book of Salads

Published in 1958, this copy of Good Housekeeping’s Book of Salad “to heighten appetites and brighten meals”.  This copy has some creases, and stains on the cover, and inside, but the pages are still tight.

Like the Culinary Arts Institute, Good Housekeeping published a series of these fun and funky cook-booklets filled with recipes ranging from weird to wonderful. They also document the great food photography and illustration styles of that era… and the fonts… gotta love the fun fonts!

Book of Salads won’t let you down! Filled with fun illustrations, photos, and of course recipes. It has everything from green salads, vegetable salads, fruit salads, the ever wonder molded salads, frozen salads (brr…), hot salads, and of course salad dressings.
