I’ve always had some fascination with vintage cookbooks, especially ones from the 50′s, give or take a decade or two.  I think it was a mix of the cool art, scary food photography, and my interest in cooking.  Somewhere in the 90′s I started my first venture into the web realm with the now defunct and long gone rfez.com, Rotating Fez (although I have started up Rotating Fez again at www.rotatingfez.com But don’t have much time to update it regularly) . It was a retro site that encompassed retro food & vintage cookbooks, drink, music, design and more.

The history of vintage cookbooks goes beyond the recipes.  It also shows us the history of graphic design, illustration and photography styles, and chronicles the history of our various cultures. Vintage cookbooks are not only for food lovers, but for historians, lovers of art & design, and even anthropologists.

The Retro Cookbook site is a chance to archive a genre of vintage cookbooks, their art, photography, and their recipes.  All items are being documented, “reprinted”, and archived for historical and educational purposes. And now I’ve adde an online store to the site to sell off some of my duplicate vintage cookbook, as well as other vintage items from my collection!

Ordering & Payment

Currently we only offer online purchasing, and can not accept phone orders. We accept payment through PayPal.  PayPal is a secure payment service which allow you to pay from either your PayPal account, or with a credit card.

Shipping

Orders placed Monday thru Friday will generally be shipped within 1-2 days of payment. Orders placed over the weekend are generally shipped on Monday’s. If we foresee a delay in getting your order in the mail, we will contact you.

All shipping rates, and free shipping offers, are for US customers only.  We can ship internationally, but there will be an additional charge.  Contact us for details.
