How to play Pick-aroni
How to play Pick-aroni (Using San Giorgio Recipes), printed in 1957 by San Giorgio Macacroni Inc. Mmm… mmm! Look at that cover… pasta & meatballs with a nice marinara sauce, as well as garlic bread and a bottle of Chianti. I wish I was having that for dinner tonight (but I am making a pizza.)
This fun little cookbook is from a macaroni company I’ve never heard of, but they are still around and you can read about them on the San Giorgio site.
What is the deal with “Pick-aroni” you ask? Well, having a macaroni product was never more fund since San Giorgio’s came in 65 different shapes and sizes.
While this cookbook has a wide range of tasty looking recipes and fun food shots… perhaps the best part of the cookbook is their mascot, Georgie.
Georgie is a cute happy little kid, yet there is still something about him… some devilish quality perhaps. Sort of like Dennis the Menace, yet a bit more devious looking. Maybe it is the missing tooth, or maybe that raised eyebrow that is making me think of Jack Nicholson… I dunno.
Stay tuned for some tasty recipes and other art from this fun little cookbook!
