The Holiday Cookbook
The Holiday Cookbook, published in 1955 by the Culinary Arts Institute. This fine little cookbook offers recipes for all the usual holidays we may thinking of, as well as for Lincoln’s and Washington’s Birthdays! Wow, okay then. What kind of recipes could one expect for Lincoln’s birthday? Well, Lincoln Log, of course! The Lincoln Log is basically a thin chocolate cake with a cream filling… pineapple cream filling… we know how pineapples were readily available back then. And for George Washington, cherry pie… of course. There are a couple Christmas recipes I’ll try to post, but if not, just look back at our Thanksgiving recipes since many have turkey for Christmas as well.
On that note, tonight is Christmas Eve and I wish you all the best!

I’m glad that George had such classic taste! Abe seems to have been well ahead of his time, though!
Merry Christmas!
