What Shall I Cook Today?

Nov 9th, 2009 by admin | 2

spry“What Shall I Cook Today?” is a cook-booklet from an unknown age, printed by Level Brothers and is a promotional cookbook for Spry pure vegetable shortening.  I’m guessing this is from the 1920′s or ’30′s.

It has what I believe to be the standard “cartoon” style cover design. (judging from other Spry cookbooks I have.)  The food photography includes some reasonable appealing food shots, as well as how-to shots.  Overall, the recipes look good and not as weird as some vintage cookbooks tend to be!

This cookbook is a gracious donation of Neal.  If you wish to donate vintage cookbooks, contact me!
